Rajasthan Royals (RR) is one of the eight original teams that embarked on its journey in IPL 2008. This franchise is notable for being the first to clinch an IPL trophy. Under the inspiring leadership of Shane Warne, the Royals’ victory in 2008 is celebrated as one of the remarkable underdog tales in the annals of Indian cricket. Sadly, the Rajasthan Royals have struggled to replicate that initial success in subsequent seasons.

Before the start of IPL 2008, Emerging Media secured the ownership rights for the Jaipur-based team with a bid of $67 million for a decade. This was the lowest bid among all eight IPL teams. In 2025, the franchise was under the banner of Royal Multisport Private Limited with Manoj Badale’s Emerging Media retaining a majority stake of approximately 65%, establishing him as the primary owner and representative of the franchise. RedBird Capital Partners held a 15% stake while Lachlan Murdoch owned around 13%. As of 2026, the Rajasthan Royals have been completely sold to a group led by US investor Kal Somani for $1.63 billion (₹16,290 crore). RR Net Worth & Brand Value in IPL

When it comes to Brand value in the IPL, the Rajasthan Royals have not been one of the teams that have gained the most advantages in the league. A recent report from Houlihan Lokey indicates that the Rajasthan Royals rank seventh among all IPL teams with a brand value of $146 million. This shows consistent growth, yet it still places them in the lower half of the rankings. The ‘Men in Pink’ have relied heavily on their international players and their inconsistent availability has frequently impacted their campaigns negatively.
