England vs Netherlands – 498/4 (2022)
On June 17, 2022, England broke the ODI record by scoring 498 runs for 4 wickets against the Netherlands in Amstelveen. The innings was boosted by centuries from Salt, Malan and Buttler who scored 162 not out, along with Livingstone’s quick 66. Even though Scott Edwards managed to score 72 not out, England’s bowlers secured a victory by 232 runs.
England vs Australia – 481/6 (2018)
On June 19, 2018, England achieved a world record score of 481/6 against Australia at Trent Bridge thanks to Bairstow’s 139 and Hales’ 147. Morgan contributed a rapid 67 and Root added 52, boosting England’s total. In response, Australia could only score 239 resulting in a massive 242-run victory for England.
England vs Pakistan – 444/3 (2016)
On August 30, 2016, England achieved a world record score of 444/3 against Pakistan at Trent Bridge, thanks to Alex Hales’ explosive 171 and Joe Root’s 85. Roy contributed with 87 runs while Morgan added an unbeaten 57. In response, Pakistan scored 275 with Rashid and Woakes each claiming three wickets, resulting in a 169-run victory and a 3-0 series win.
Sri Lanka vs Netherlands – 443/9 (2006)
On July 4, 2006, Sri Lanka achieved a world record score of 443/9 against the Netherlands, driven by Jayasuriya’s 157 runs and Dilshan’s not out 117. The total was further enhanced by extras while the Netherlands managed to score 248 with contributions from de Leede (51) and newcomer Kervezee (47). Sri Lanka’s bowlers secured a victory by 195 runs highlighting the beginning of the 400-plus ODI scores era.
South Africa vs West Indies – 439/2 (2015)
On January 18, 2015, South Africa scored an impressive 439/2 against the West Indies at the Wanderers. Amla contributed a solid 153* and Rossouw added 128, creating a massive partnership. AB de Villiers then stole the show on Pink Day hitting 149 runs off just 44 balls. In response, the West indies could only reach 291/7 leading to South Africa’s victory by 148 runs and a 2-0 lead in the series.
