RR Team Owner in IPL 2025: Royal Multisport Private Limited

Rajasthan Royals is one of the eight original teams that embarked on its journey in IPL 2008. This franchise is notable for being the first to clinch an IPL trophy. Under the inspiring leadership of Shane Warne, the Royals’ victory in 2008 is celebrated as one of the remarkable underdog tales in the annals of Indian cricket. Sadly, the Rajasthan Royals have struggled to replicate that initial success in subsequent seasons. In IPL 2013, 2015, and 2018, Royals reached the playoffs but fell short of making it to the finals. As IPL 2026 approaches, the franchise team owner has retained its core players and brought in some exciting young talent during the 2025 auction.

As previously noted, Rajasthan Royals (RR) is one of the original eight franchises in the IPL. Before the start of IPL 2008, Emerging Media secured the ownership rights for the Jaipur-based team with a bid of $67 million for a decade. This was the lowest bid among all eight IPL teams. In 2025, the franchise is now under the banner of Royal Multisport Private Limited. Manoj Badale’s Emerging Media retains a majority stake of approximately 65% in the company, establishing him as the primary owner and representative of the franchise. In 2021, RedBird Capital Partners acquired a 15% stake in the franchise for an undisclosed sum. As of 2025, they are reportedly contemplating selling their share to take advantage of the rising IPL valuations. Lachlan Murdoch, the British businessman and media executive, also holds a minority stake of around 13% in Rajasthan Royals.

RR Net Worth & Brand Value in IPL

When it comes to Brand value in the IPL, the Rajasthan Royals have not been one of the teams that have gained the most advantages in the league. A recent report from Houlihan Lokey indicates that the Rajasthan Royals rank seventh among all IPL teams with a brand value of $146 million. This shows consistent growth, yet it still places them in the lower half of the rankings. The ‘Men in Pink’ have relied heavily on their international players, and their inconsistent availability has frequently impacted their campaigns negatively. Even with strong individual performances from captain Sanju Samson and moments of brilliance from their young Indian talent, the Royals faced a disappointing 2025 season, ending up ninth on the points table.
