GT Team Owner in IPL 2025: Torrent Group

The Gujarat Titans have been on a remarkable journey since their IPL debut in 2022. Led by Hardik Pandya, the Ahmedabad-based franchise clinched their first title in their inaugural IPL appearance. In IPL 2023, the Titans narrowly missed out on their second consecutive title, falling to the seasoned Chennai Super Kings in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In 2024, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, the team once again demonstrated their consistency by reaching the playoffs, solidifying their status as one of the league’s most formidable teams. The team management, along with the Gujarat Titans Owner, will now look ahead with renewed focus after the conclusion of the 2025 IPL season. The franchise once again showcased its fighting spirit but ultimately fell short of reclaiming the title.

The Gujarat Titans are now primarily owned by the Torrent Group, which has acquired a 67% share in the franchise just before the 2025 IPL season. CVC Capital Partners still holds a 33% minority stake in the franchise. Initially, the rights to the Gujarat-based team were secured by the British private equity firm CVC Capital Partners in 2021, following a successful bid of ₹5,625 crore ($750 million). When CVC Capital Partners initially took control of the Gujarat Titans, a controversy arose concerning their connections to a UK-based sports betting firm. However, after a comprehensive investigation led by Justice KS Radhakrishnan, the BCCI resolved the issue. They then issued a Letter of Intent (LoI), affirming their ownership. With Torrent Group now leading the way and CVC holding a significant stake, the Gujarat Titans are poised to enter the post-2025 era with a refreshed vision.
