1. Royal Challengers Bangalore – 49 all-out vs KKR (IPL 2017)
After reaching the IPL final in 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a terrible time in the tenth season of the IPL. The team led by Virat Kohli ended up last in 2017 and managing only three wins throughout the whole season. RCB’s disappointing performance was highlighted during their match against KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The highly talented RCB team did not meet the expectations and was dismissed for their lowest t20 score in IPL history. RCB’s innings ended in just 9.4 overs with a total of 49 runs marking it the lowest team score ever recorded in IPL history.
2. Rajasthan Royals – 58 all-out vs RCB (IPL 2009)
In the 2009 IPL edition, the reigning champions were stunned in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Cape Town. Rajasthan Royals faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Graeme Smith and Asnodkar while chasing a modest target of 134 runs. The Royals’ innings struggled to gain momentum as Anil Kumble delivered an exceptional bowling performance that put them on the defensive. Kumble achieved remarkable figures of 5/5 in just 3.1 overs. Ultimately, Rajasthan Royals were all out for 58 runs making it the lowest total in IPL at that time.
3. Rajasthan Royals – 59 all-out vs RCB (IPL 2023)
In the 2023 IPL season, the Rajasthan Royals faced one of their toughest matches. The Royals faced a crushing defeat against the RCB in a match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Their batting lineup collapsed dramatically by posting a meager total of just 59 runs. None of the RR batsmen were able to find their rhythm as the RCB bowlers applied constant pressure and keeping the scoring rate low. Wayne Parnell stood out by taking three important wickets. RCB easily completed the chase in 10.3 overs to secure a huge victory by 112 runs.
4. Delhi Daredevils – 66 all-out vs MI (IPL 2017)
The Delhi Daredevils, now known as the Delhi Capitals had a terrible time with the bat during IPL 2017. The home team was dismissed for just 66 runs in a match against the Mumbai Indians at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Daredevils lost Sanju Samson on the very first ball while trying to chase down 213 runs to win. Delhi never seemed at ease while pursuing such a huge target. The Mumbai bowlers kept taking wickets consistently with Karn Sharma standing out by taking 3 wickets. In the end, Mumbai won the match by a massive margin of 146 runs.
5. Delhi Daredevils – 67 all-out vs KXIP (IPL 2017)
During an away match against Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab), Delhi’s top-order struggled once more against some solid seam bowling. Players like Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, and Shreyas Iyer failed to set up a strong score for their team. Sandeep Sharma was the main threat as he took four wickets and causing chaos in Delhi’s dressing room. The visitors managed to score only 67 runs while the Punjab openers easily chased it down without losing a wicket, finishing with 73 balls remaining.
